The Growing Deepfake Problem

The AI porn industry has a problem. Of the 20+ tools we track, 6 allow users to upload personal photos to generate explicit content without the subject's consent. That's roughly 30% of the market.

These tools go by many names:

  • "Undress AI"
  • "Nudify"
  • "DeepFake generators"
  • "Face swap" tools
  • "Photo-to-nude" converters

They all do the same thing: take a photo of a real person and generate sexual imagery without that person's knowledge or consent.

Why We Flag These Tools

At AIPornRanking, we believe there's a fundamental difference between:

  1. AI that creates — tools that generate original fictional content from text prompts
  2. AI that exploits — tools that process real people's photos to create non-consensual content

Category 1 is creative technology. Category 2 is a weapon.

Our Scoring System

We use a 0-10 Ethics Score:

  • 8-10: Clean tool, generates original content
  • 4-7: Mixed — some concerning features but with controls
  • 1-3: Dangerous — deepfake/undress capable, weak controls
  • 0: Critical — explicitly markets non-consensual content

Tools scoring below 8 receive ranking penalties of up to -2.0 points on their overall score.

The Legal Landscape

Non-consensual deepfake porn is now illegal in:

  • 46+ US states have laws addressing deepfake intimate imagery
  • UK: Online Safety Act 2023 specifically criminalizes deepfake intimate imagery
  • EU: AI Act classifies deepfake generation as high-risk
  • South Korea: Up to 5 years imprisonment
  • Australia: Online Safety Amendment Act 2024

What You Can Do

  1. Choose ethical tools — use generators that create original content
  2. Report deepfake content — most platforms have takedown policies
  3. Support legislation — advocate for stronger deepfake laws
